101 Marketing Strategies: The Basics

• Stress Presentation: make sure everything your customer sees is crisp, clean and professional. This includes your storefront, your merchandise, your communications and your appearance

• Be Nice: Practice being nice to everyone so that it becomes second nature

• Exist To Serve: Not everyone is going to buy but you should be polite, helpful and professional in any case

• Create Value(s): Why should your customer buy from you? Stand for something and differentiate yourself from your competition

• Care: If you are not passionate about what you do then your chances of being highly successful at it are greatly diminished

• Ask: There is a sales maxim that applies to marketing which is, “ask, don’t tell.” Find out what your customers want and give it to them

• Experiment: There is no “silver bullet” tip that is going to make your sales skyrocket forever. Variety is the spice of life and sales and marketing

• Use What Works: What are your competitors doing? Where would you go to purchase a similar product or service?

• Be Creative: All this means is keep and open mind and always be prepared to try something new

• Be Extraordinary: Just because everyone else does it does not mean that you have to. Try something different just for the heck of it

• Be You: Let your personal touch come through in your business as it does in your life

• Be Real: If it doesn’t feel right don’t do it

• Be Honest: Customers appreciate honesty and markets reward integrity

• Think: Putting yourself in your customer’s shoes and putting your heart and mind into what you do is the best way to become a good marketer

• Don’t Give Up: The only advice that works every time
